My mother, who has just had her 90th birthday celebration at Hendra Court, couldn't be in a better, more caring place.
Staff are always willing to go that extra mile and if asked to organise a birthday party etc more than happy and willing to do so.
My brother is so much happier and feels secure and safe since he went to Hendra Court in January. Every single member of staff is so patient and happy and all of them work very hard. The grounds are lovely to sit in and it's not far from the sea.
Hendra Court is a lovely well-run Nursing Home, the staff are always very caring and go above and beyond their duty to make sure the residents are cared for. The rooms are very clean and the staff always give a personal touch. The clothes are always washed to a high standard. The food is nourishing and well-presented.
The care and attention my father received was exceptional. Whenever I visited I was greeted with a smiling face and nothing was too much trouble. Every member of staff took the time to get to know him with his personality and humour so evident. Thank you!
Thank you to you and all of the staff at Hendra, for the amazing care you always give to my husband. It's great for me to know he is safe and happy with you guys. He was so chuffed today that you all made such an effort for his birthday and was excited about his birthday tea. I really appreciate the care and devotion you all show to him. You guys are the next best thing to having him home with us.
I would highly recommend this home to anybody who wants the staff to look after their loved ones as though they are part of a large loving family.
About Us
Hendra Court is housed over three main areas:
- The main house – where you will find reception. There is also a quiet lounge for all, and an upstairs for individuals who require to be nursed in bed or who are no longer mobilizing.
- The middle – which is dedicated to gentlemen. In this area, we have a garden area for our residents to enjoy in the summer. We also have one of our nurse’s stations as well as the deputy and clinical leads offices.
- The bungalow – this has a large open plan lounge/dining area and conservatory for our residents to enjoy watching the wildlife in the surrounding garden, which is also a great place for activities in the summer.
Our aim here at Hendra to ensure that you feel independent and remain your independence, that you feel valued and safe.

Elmsleigh House, Par was home to Joshua Rathbone, MP for the Bodmin Constituency, Cornwall, and his family during the 1930's.

We have a very well established Team at Hendra Court. The Home Manager and Clinical Lead have a wealth of knowledge and experience across Health & Social Care and have been working at Hendra Court for over 10 years.
Everyone at Hendra Court strives to provide outstanding care and support to our residents and their families.
We have a multicultural team who work on site, made up of:
Administration: Home Admin
Care Staff: Health Care Assistants, Health & Wellbeing Coordinators, Senior Health Care Assistants, RG Nurses and RM Nurses;
Catering Staff: Catering Supervisor, Catering Assistant and Kitchen Porters;

Events & Activities
We have a wide range of activities daily in our home. These are person-centred to ensure that every individual is catered for. In the summer when we have warmer weather, we enjoy spending time in the garden areas, going for walks in the local area and walking around our beautiful grounds.
Hendra Court has a hairdresser who comes in regularly, and our wonderful health & wellbeing coordinators offer a superb pamper experience.
Chirpodist – Matthew, from Noah’s Ark Footcare, available for booking to provide you with the footcare you deserve and desire.
Dental – Alister is our local dentist, available for all your dental needs.
Optician – we use Vision on Call for all our sight tests.
Our Menu
We partner with award winning Apetito to deliver nutritional, balanced and delicious meals.
Eating and drinking is an important part of everyone’s daily life. In our Home, we cater for all diets and aim to make mealtimes enjoyable and social occasions. Our kitchens are supplied by Apetito, award winning specialists in catering for the care market, whose recipes are developed by expert chefs, nutritionists, and dieticians to develop dishes that not only look and taste fantastic but are meeting the dietary and nutritional needs of all our residents.
Hendra Court offers three substantial, well-balanced hot meals daily. All of our meals can be tailored for special dietary requirements.
Breakfast – Breakfast is served daily from 7:30 am. We have both cooked and continental breakfasts available each day.
Lunch – Our lunch is served from 12:15 pm daily. Our menu varies based on the season and preferences.
Evening meal – This is our last meal of the day and this is served from 16:30pm. We have various choices from lighter hot meals, soup and sandwiches.
Fancy a brew? Then keep a look out for our tea trolley with a selection of biscuits, cakes and other homemade snacks. This popular trolley will be around at 11 am and 15:00 pm. But don’t worry, you are always welcome to a snack and a cuppa whenever you wish.
We also have water, squash, juices and hot chocolate available too!
